Seasonally saturated soil definition

Seasonally saturated soil means the highest seasonal elevation in the soil that is in a reduced chemical state because of soil voids being filled with water causing anaerobic conditions. Seasonally saturated soil is evident by the presence of redoximorphic features or other information determined by scientifically established methods or empirical field measurements.

  • Saturated zone or "zone of saturation" means that part of the earth's crust in which all voids are filled with water.
