The following describes the formal corrective action steps and is not intended to cover the informal coaching and counseling which may precede formal corrective action: • Verbal Warning • First Written Warning • Second Written Warning • Discharge In most situations, each step is followed in progression (i.e., verbal, first written, second written, and then, if necessary, discharge).
Employees in ACP at the Second Written Warning step and beyond are not permitted to use sick leave to excuse an absence.

Stage 2 - Second Written Warning If the conduct or performance does not improve within the stated time, or in the event of a repeated or more serious offence, the employee’s supervisor/manager will interview the employee and, if necessary issue a written warning.
A meeting will be held with the employee, the supervisor or manager, and the xxxxxxx or the Union’s Branch President, at which time a Second Written Warning will be given to the employee, with a copy to the Union, unless the employee waives Union representation.
Disciplinary action shall be limited to the following: - Verbal warning; - First Written Warning; - Second Written Warning; - Last chance probationary period of two (2) weeks - Dismissal.
The employee receives a Second Written Warning on August 15th and a Final Written Warning/Suspension on November 1st.
A record of the Second Written Warning will remain on the employee’s personnel file for a period of two years but will be disregarded for disciplinary purposes after twelve months provided that the Company is satisfied with the employee’s conduct/performance.
For discipline situations that are appropriate for progressive discipline such as attendance problems or minor job performance issues, the progressive steps shall be: First Written Warning Second Written Warning Final Written Warning and Suspension Termination The above steps will not be followed in instances where the employees' behavior or actions warrant a shorter process.
If an employee commits an infraction within one year of receiving a First Written Warning, the employee’s discipline will progress to a Second Written Warning, unless the employee’s conduct warrants a more serious form of discipline under the just cause standard.
