Significant feature definition

Significant feature means an exterior architectural component of a building that contributes to its special historic, cultural, and/or aesthetic character, or in the case of an historic district, that reinforces the special characteristics for which the historic district was designated.
Significant feature means any element of a landmark which the Board has designated pursuant to this chapter as important to the historic, architectural or archaeological value of the landmark.
Significant feature means the natural or man-made elements which are indicative or representative of an historic landmark's exterior style, type, design, or general arrangement including, but not limited to, the kind, and texture of the building materials, and the type and style of all windows, doors, lights, signs, and other fixtures which are a part of such improvement.

Significant feature means, for purposes of Chapter 15.280 ECC, any physical characteristic of a landmark, landmark site, or landmark district which the commission has stipulated in the designation as important to the historic value of the property, and for which a certificate of approval appropriateness is required prior to alteration.
