The ESA applies to listed species on the Species at Risk in Ontario List (SARO).
The Minister shall ensure that a strategy is prepared for the recovery of a species that is listed on the Species at Risk in Ontario List as an extirpated species if the Minister is of the opinion that reintroduction of the species into Ontario is feasible.
Species at Risk are identified as extirpated, endangered, threatened or species of special concern on the Species at Risk in Ontario List.
