Thermoluminescent dosimeter definition

Thermoluminescent dosimeter or “TLD” means a dosimeter containing a crystalline solid for measuring radiation dose, plus filters to help characterize the types of radiation encountered. When heated, TLD crystals that have been exposed to ionizing radiation give off light proportional to the energy they received from the radiation.
Thermoluminescent dosimeter or "TLD" means a device used for radiation monitoring which measures integrated dose by the principle of thermoluminescence.
