Time off in lieu of overtime definition

Time off in lieu of overtime means to grant an employee paid time off in terms of Section 10 of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act.

Examples of Time off in lieu of overtime in a sentence

  • Time off in lieu of overtime pay shall be granted at the convenience of the department head.

  • Time off in lieu of overtime (calculated at equivalent overtime rates) shall be available to electorate office staff.

  • Time off in lieu of overtime pay which is not taken within twelve (12) months of the date of working the said overtime shall be paid out to the employee at the end of the twelfth month.

  • Time off in lieu of overtime is taken on the basis of hour for hour at ordinary pay.

  • Time off in lieu of overtime (Time in Lieu) must be agreed to and pre-approved before being worked, by the Employer.
