Uniformed Flaggers definition

Uniformed Flaggers. Uniformed Flaggers shall be persons who have successfully completed flagger training by the American Traffic Safety Services Association, National Safety Council or other programs. Services of Uniformed Flaggers shall include the following equipment: garments (including high visibility headgear) so as to be readily distinguishable as a Flagger in accordance with Standard 6E-3 of the MUTCD, and these specifications, and a STOP/SLOW paddle that is at least 18 inches in width and with letters at least 6 inches high, mounted on a handle of sufficient length so that the bottom of the sign will be 6 feet above the ground, and conforms to Standard 6E-4 of the MUTCD and catalog number 000-00-0000 of the Catalog of Signs Connecticut DOT. Uniformed Flaggers will only be used on non-limited access highways when authorized by the Traffic Control Manual. Uniformed Flaggers will be used at such locations and for such periods necessary to control traffic operations.

  • Uniformed services means the armed forces, the army national guard, and the air national guard of any state, territory, commonwealth, possession, or district when engaged in active duty for training, inactive duty for training, full-time national guard duty, or state active duty, the commissioned corps of the public health service, the coast guard and any other category of persons designated by the President of the United States in time of war or national emergency.

  • Uniformed service means the performance of duty on a voluntary or involuntary basis in the uniformed service of the United States, including the U.S. Public Health Services, under competent authority and includes active duty, active duty for training, initial activity duty for training, inactive duty training, full-time National Guard duty, and the period for which a person is absent from a position of employment for purposes of an examination to determine the fitness of the person to perform any such duty.

  • School bus means every motor vehicle owned by a public or governmental agency or private school and operated for the transportation of pupils, children of pupils, teachers and other persons acting in a supervisory capacity, to or from school or school activities, or, privately owned and operated for compensation for the transportation of pupils, children of pupils, teachers and other persons acting in a supervisory capacity to or from school or school activities (Education Law §11[1] and Vehicle and Traffic Law §142).

  • Service Animal means an animal that is required by a person with a disability for assistance and is certified, in writing, as having been trained by a professional service animal institution to assist a person with a disability and which is properly harnessed in accordance with standards established by a professional service animal institution.

  • Cosmetologist means an individual licensed under this chapter to practice cosmetology.

  • Retail Marijuana means all parts of the plant of the genus cannabis whether growing or not, the seeds thereof, the resin extracted from any part of the plant, and every compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, or preparation of the plant, its seeds, or its resin, including but not limited to Retail Marijuana Concentrate, that is cultivated, manufactured, distributed, or sold by a licensed Retail Marijuana Business. “Retail Marijuana” does not include industrial hemp, nor does it include fiber produced from stalks, oil, or cake made from the seeds of the plant, sterilized seed of the plant which is incapable of germination, or the weight of any other Ingredient combined with marijuana to prepare topical or oral administrations, food, drink, or other product. If the context requires, Retail Marijuana includes Retail Marijuana Concentrate and Retail Marijuana Product.
