Union service leave means that period of absence from employment commencing on the date an employee commences a leave of absence for the purpose of serving in a position with a labor organization representing employees of the employee’s employer, and terminating on the date that leave of absence termi- nates or the date that service with that labor organization termi- nates, whichever first occurs.
