Well stimulation definition

Well stimulation or "stimulation of a well" means the process of enhancing well productivity, including hydraulic fracturing operations.
Well stimulation means several processes used to clean the well bore, enlarge channels, and increase pore space in the interval to be injected thus making it possible for wastewater to move more readily into the formation, and includes (1) surging, (2) jetting, (3) blasting, (4) acidizing, (5) hydraulic fracturing.
Well stimulation means any of several operations or processes to initiate or increase the production of oil or gas from a well, including acidizing, hydraulic fracturing, or other methods.

Examples of Well stimulation in a sentence

  • Well stimulation operations within the Trona Interval shall include a post stimulation survey that identifies the extent of induced fractures.

  • Well stimulation treatments include, but are not limited to, hydraulic fracturing and acid well stimulation treatments.

  • Well stimulation was also required, and improvements in hydraulic fracturing techniques, particularly multistage hydraulic fracturing and the ability to better control the fractures, contributed to making shale gas production a profitable venture.

  • Well stimulation treatment fluids include, but are not limited to, hydraulic fracturing fluids and acid stimulation treatment fluids.

  • Well stimulation treatments include, but are not limited to, hydraulic fracturing treatments and acid well stimulation treatments.

More Definitions of Well stimulation

Well stimulation means a process used to clean the well, enlarge channels, and increase pore space in the interval to be injected, thus making it possible for fluids to move more readily into the injection zone; well stimulation includes, but is not limited to, (1) surging, (2) jetting, (3) blasting, (4) acidizing, (5) hydraulic fracturing.
Well stimulation means any of several operations or processes to initiate or increase the
Well stimulation means the stimulation of a well to increase its productivity. Stimulation techniques include, but are not limited to, blasting, hydro-fracturing, chemical treatment, surging, and dry-icing.
Well stimulation means the stimulation of a well to increase its productivity by techniques including, but not limited to, blasting, hydro-fracturing, chemical treatment, surging and dry-icing.
Well stimulation means a well intervention, exploration, operation, or maintenance procedure performed by injecting fluid, including chemicals, into a rock formation in order to increase flow of production at an oil or gas well by increasing the flow of hydrocarbons from the formation into the wellbore. Well stimulation does not include routine well cleaning that does not affect the integrity of the well or the formation.
Well stimulation means a well mediation performed on an ISR well to increase production by improving the flow of injection fluids from the injection wells into the production well bore.
Well stimulation means any of several processes used to clean the well bore, enlarge channels, and increase pore space in the interval to be injected thus making it possible for injected fluids to move more readily into the formation, and includes surging, jetting, blasting, acidizing, and hydraulic fracturing, or other method approved by the Department. The approval process is described in subsection 62-528.100(2), F.A.C.
