This work aims the costs reduction through hiring of capacity allocation applied to the UPV. According ANEEL Normative Resolution 304/2008, consumption units directly connected to generation unit can establish a contract called capacity allocation (amount of use, in MW, for supplying in case of temporary interruptions or reductions of the electric power generation plant, in addition to the fixed contract amount to support these consumer units). Feasibility study and simulations were done to determine the best configuration to be hired (conventional demand x capacity allocation), considering the rules for hiring and consumption and generation scenarios estimated. The work was implemented in January 2011 and there is satisfactory reduction of the amount monthly spent on electric power demand at the UPV.
