00 - Union Dues. L11.01 On each pay date on which a teacher is paid, the Board will deduct from their pay the regular ETFO Union Dues in accordance with the written direction of the Union, to be received by the Board at least thirty (30) days in advance of an anticipated change. It is understood that SEB payments do not constitute any part of a teacher's pay for purposes of dues deduction. (a) ETFO dues deducted in accordance with L11.01 above shall be remitted to the attention of the ETFO General Secretary at 000 Xxxxxxxx Xx., Toronto Ontario M4Y 0B5 on the 15th day of each month following the month in which the deductions were made. (b) At a minimum of three times per year, by October 31st, January 31st and June 30th of each year, the Board will provide the ETFO General Secretary with the following information: name, address, Board email, Ministry Identification Number (MIDENT), FTE status, salary, member status (Active/ terminate/retired), member leave status (deferred/paid/ preg/parental/unpaid/ WSIB), and OCT number. L11.03 Any monies deducted under L11.01 and L11.02 above shall be reflected as a dues deduction on teachers' T4 slips. L11.04 The ETFO shall indemnify the Board and save it harmless from all costs, losses, suits, attachments, damages or any other form of liability that may accrue from claims against the Board arising from the deduction or remission of dues, or from the provision of information upon which the Board and the Union may agree in accordance with the foregoing. It is further agreed that the Board is not in any way responsible for reconciling amounts due or deducted, but, upon request by the Union, will correct the future deduction status for a teacher. L11.05 The Board will deduct and remit professional fees to the Ontario College of Teachers in accordance with enabling legislation/regulation. The letter sent to each teacher granting them a leave of absence shall include a reminder that it is the teacher's responsibility to remit fees directly to the College of Teachers.
