A Geriatric Mental. Health Specialist is defined as a mental health professional who has the following education and experience: 2.63.4.1. A minimum of one hundred (100) actual hours (not quarter or semester hours) of specialized training devoted to the mental health problems and treatment of persons sixty (60) years of age or older; and 2.63.4.2. The equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in the treatment of persons sixty (60) years of age or older, under the supervision of a geriatric mental health specialist.
