Common use of Absence Beyond Accumulated Sick Leave Clause in Contracts

Absence Beyond Accumulated Sick Leave. A unit member absent for illness, 8 injury, disability, or quarantine beyond the number of workdays accumulated for sick leave shall 9 have deducted from his/her salary the amount paid to the substitute, whether a substitute is 10 employed or not, for those days beyond the sick leave allowance for the period of five (5) school 11 months or less, such amount not to exceed the absent unit member’s daily rate of pay.
