Accumulated Sick Leave. The Employer shall inform all employees at least once each year of the number of sick days accumulated and shall make the information available to an employee on request.
Accumulated Sick Leave. An employee's accumulated sick leave entitlements are preserved when:
(a) The employee is absent from work on unpaid leave granted by the employer;
(b) The employer or employee terminates the employee's employment and the employee is re-employed within 3 months;
(c) The employee's employment is terminated because of illness or injury and the employee is re-employed by the same employer without having been employed in the interim. The employee accumulates sick leave entitlements whilst absent from work on paid leave granted by the employer.
Accumulated Sick Leave. Upon termination of service, Employee will be compensated at the Employee’s daily rate of pay at the rate of one day for each five days of accumulated sick leave, capped at 100 days, and may elect to have the District purchase PERS credit. Employee may participate in the Health Reimbursement Account program offered under the District’s collective bargaining agreement with CCASAPE. Employee may not participate in any other form of payment for unused sick leave.
Accumulated Sick Leave. Where in any academic year an Employee appointed as probationary or regular prior to August 1, 1998 does not use the full twenty (20) days Sick Leave which may be applied for under clause 33.3 (a), the Employee may accumulate the unused portion of Sick Leave to a maximum of one hundred and ninety-five (195) days.
Accumulated Sick Leave. A unit member on leave of absence will retain any sick leave accumulated prior to the leave, but will accumulate no additional sick leave during a leave of absence.
Accumulated Sick Leave. A. Any unused balance of an employee’s 100% sick leave bank remaining at the end of a calendar year shall be carried over to the following calendar year. That bank may accumulate to a maximum of 800 hours. Any 100% sick leave remaining unused at the end of a calendar year, which, if added to an employee's accumulated 100% sick leave bank, will exceed 800 hours, shall, as soon as practicable be compensated in cash at the rate of 50% of the employee’s current salary rate. The City retains the option to cash out some or all of the time in the excess sick time bank at any time. In the event the hours are not used by the employee or cashed out by the City, the hours will be cashed out upon the employee’s retirement. Effective January 2021, any 100% sick leave remaining unused at the end of each calendar year, which, if added to an employee’s accumulated 100% sick leave will exceed 800 hours, shall, as soon as practicable, be compensated in cash at the rate of 100% of the employee’s current salary rate.
B. If any employee becomes separated from the service of the Department by reason of retirement or death, any balance of accumulated 100% sick leave remaining unused at the time of separation shall be compensated to the employee, or in the event of separation due to the death of the employee, to the employee's estate, by cash payment of 50% of the employee's salary rate current at such date of separation. The City Council may, by resolution, authorize cash payment to the legal beneficiaries of an employee who suffers a duty-related death for the balance of the employee’s accumulated full-pay sick leave at 100% of the employee’s salary rate on the date of his or her death. Effective January 2021, if any employee becomes separated from the service of the Department by reasons of retirement or death, any balance of accumulated 100% sick leave remaining unused at the time of separation shall be compensated to the employee, or in the event of separation due to the death of the employee, to the employee's estate, by cash payment of 100% of the employee's salary rate current at such date of separation. In no instance will an employee or an employee’s estate be compensated more than once for accumulated sick leave upon retirement or death of the employee.
C. Any unused balance of sick leave at 75% of full pay at the end of any calendar year and any unused balance of sick leave at 50% of full pay at the end of any calendar year shall be carried over and accumulated from o...
Accumulated Sick Leave a. If, in any one school year the teacher shall be absent for such illness less than the stated number of days, the remaining days shall be accumulated to an unlimited number of days. Accumulated leave shall be used for personal illness leave only.
b. A teacher employed under contract for only a portion of the school year shall be entitled to a proportionate number of illness leave days, and unused days will be accumulated as specified herein.
c. Teachers on summer teaching employment shall be entitled to one additional illness day to be absent from work on account of personal illness and/or medical emergency. If this day is not used during summer teaching employment, it shall be added toward the unlimited accumulation.
Accumulated Sick Leave. Up to thirteen (13) unused annual leave days shall be added to the accumulated sick leave to the maximum accumulation of 192 days. A teacher’s annual leave days shall be added at the start of the school year and will be first used before using accumulated days. A teacher employed under regular contract for only a portion of the school year shall be entitled to a proportionate number of days of annual leave and unused days will be accumulated as specified herein.
Accumulated Sick Leave. The maximum number of sick leave days accumulated shall be 340 days. Because no salary or wages are held in escrow, hourly or daily employees will be given sick leave only for those actually earned at the rate of 1¼ days per month.
Accumulated Sick Leave. The maximum number of sick leave days accumulated shall be unlimited.
