ABSENCES DUE TO ASSAULT AND OR BATTERY. Whenever an employee is absent from school as a result of personal injury, court appearances, and/or legal consultation caused by such an assault and/or battery as described in 13.1, the employee shall continue to receive his/her regular salary. Such absence shall be reported to the principal and reason(s) noted. Absence shall not be charged against the employee’s personal or sick leave.
