Common use of Academic Unit Assignment Clause in Contracts

Academic Unit Assignment. Academic staff members are assigned, where appropriate, to departments. Interdisciplinary appointments may be made and the letter of appointment shall indicate the primary academic unit to which a member is assigned. This shall determine the unit to which the member belongs for actions arising pursuant to Article 25. With the prior written concurrence of the member, duties may be assigned outside of the academic unit to which the individual member is assigned. Any assignments that cross academic units shall be stated in writing, with a copy to the Faculty Association, before they are to take effect.
