Common use of Acceptance and Job Anniversary Date Clause in Contracts

Acceptance and Job Anniversary Date. When employees have been accepted for a vacancy within the Local Union through bid procedure, the step rate promotional anniversary date for such employees shall be established as the date the employee first works on his new job, or if the employee has not been transferred to his new job within thirty (30) days of his acceptance for the job, then his step rate promotional anniversary date shall be established as thirty (30) days from the date of acceptance for the job, or as thirty (30) days from the date on which the vacancy first existed, whichever is the later. When employees have been accepted as described in the preceding paragraph for promotion to higher paid jobs, the appropriate new higher rate shall become effective the date the employee first works on his new job, or if the employee has not been transferred to his new higher paid job within thirty (30) days of his acceptance for the job, then his appropriate new higher rate shall become effective thirty (30) days from the date of acceptance for the job or thirty (30) days from the date on which the vacancy first existed, whichever is the later.
