Acting/Surrogate Administrators – Compensation. 4.3.1 In the absence of the principal and vice-principal a teacher shall be designated by the superintendent or designate to be an acting principal and shall be paid, on a daily basis, 1/200 of the vice- principal's allowance. On the sixth day, the teacher designate will receive 1/200 of the principal’s allowance.

On the sixth day, the teacher designate will receive 1/200 60 percent of the principal’s allowance's allowance for each half day of the principal's absence.

In the absence of the principal and vice-principal a school where regularly designated administrative personnel are absent, a teacher shall be designated by the superintendent or designate School Division to be an acting principal and shall be paid, on a daily basis, 1/200 paid an amount equivalent to one four-hundredth (1/400) of the vice- principal's allowance. On the sixth day, the teacher designate will receive 1/200 sixty per cent (60%) of the principal’s allowance's allowance for each one-half (1/2) day of the principal's absence. This is to be accumulated at the end of December and at the end of June and paid in a lump sum.
