Common use of Additional Certification and/or Recertification Clause in Contracts

Additional Certification and/or Recertification. If additional leave is requested or should the circumstances of the leave change, the University may, at its sole non-grievable discretion, require the employee to obtain recertification. Such requests for subsequent certification and/or recertification may be either verbal or in writing. 1) If certification and/or recertification is required, the employee shall return the certification within fifteen (15) calendar days of the University's request, where practicable. 2) Failure to provide certification and/or recertification for a foreseeable leave within the requested time may result in delay of the leave until the required certification is received. Failure to provide certification for an unforeseeable leave within the requested time period may result in discontinuance of the leave until the required certification is provided. If the employee fails to provide certification, the leave is not Family Care/Medical Leave and will be denied as family care leave, in accordance with the provisions of ' B.4.c.2).
