Common use of Additional Physical Design Specifications Clause in Contracts

Additional Physical Design Specifications. Conduit. Facilities placed in SBC MISSOURI’s conduit system following the effective date of this Appendix shall meet all of the following physical design specifications: (a) Except as otherwise specifically agreed in this Appendix or licenses issued hereunder CLEC’s facilities shall enter SBC MISSOURI’s conduit system at locations consistent with the physical design specifications that SBC MISSOURI applies to itself (typically through a manhole) or at such other designated locations agreed upon in writing (e.g., through the licensing process) by the parties in accordance with Section 6.03 (infrequent construction techniques and connectivity solutions). (b) Cables bound or wrapped with cloth or having any kind of fibrous coverings or impregnated with an adhesive material shall not be placed in SBC MISSOURI’s conduit or ducts. (c) The integrity of SBC MISSOURI’s conduit system and overall safety of personnel require that “dielectric cable” be used within SBC MISSOURI’s conduit system when a cable facility utilizes a duct or route shared in the same trench by any electric transmissions facility such as the facilities of a power utility. (d) New construction splices in cables (including but not limited to fiber optic and twisted pair cables) shall be located in manholes, pull boxes or handholes.
