Adoption of a Child. Parental leave will be granted to any employee who has adopted a child and who meets the eligibility criteria outlined in this section. Either or both adoptive parents may be granted a leave of absence for a period not exceeding thirty-seven (37) continuous weeks. Application for such leave must be requested at least two (2) weeks prior to the child reaching fifty-two (52) weeks of age. Should the child be older than fifty-two (52) weeks of age when adopted, application for parental leave must be made not more than fifty-two

Application for such leave must be requested at least two (2) weeks prior to the child reaching fifty-two (52) weeks of age. Should the child be older than fifty-two (52) weeks of age when adopted, application for parental leave must be made not more than fifty-twotwo (52) weeks after the child has come into the care of the adoptive parents.
