Alba Xxxxx. Xxxx Iulia collects separately the ‘dry fraction’11 (all recyclables) from the ‘humid fraction’12 (garbage) for individual homes. A door-to-door collection system is used for the waste collection of individual houses, while in the apartments associations citizens should carry their waste to the bring banks. Alba Iulia collects yearly about 18,000 t of household waste (over 600 kg/household). Collection is performed weekly for individual households and daily for associations of flat apartments. Alba Xxxxx. Xxxx Iulia is a Romanian city, placed in the Transylvania Region, which counts a population of 74,000 inhabitants (2017), with an extension of 103.6 km2 and a density of 566 inhabitants/km2. The population in Alba Iulia lives mainly in flats and individual houses distributed almost equally. According to the statistics provided by the municipality, 31,921 people lived in 172 associations of apartments in flat buildings. Other part of the population is distributed among 14,548 individual houses. Polaris is the authorised company for individual houses’ waste services for the entire city. For individual houses, a yellow bag is used for paper, glass, plastic and cans. Polaris is sorting locally and sending sorted materials to specialised companies. Low-quality waste and garbage are sent to dump. For associations of apartments in flat buildings, the yellow container is usually for recyclable materials, but waste quality is sometimes low, being mixed with garbage. More than that, there are persons without economic resources gathering PET bottles left near containers for selling them to recycling companies for a very small fee. Local companies selling packed goods must have recycling contracts with Polaris or other authorised companies. These companies are sorting useful materials and have contracts for delivering them to processing units.

Alba Xxxxx. Xxxx Iulia executed the collection and transport phases of the PA. The City used to do the collection of plastic waste in two fractions (wet and dry) but, due to the new legislation, it is in a process to move to a four-fraction collection. Unlike the other two pilot cities, Alba Iulia did not have dedicated containers for plastics before the pilot, hence the PlastiCircle smart containers were placed in the same locations of the containers already in use. In Alba Iulia, the collection of plastic waste is outsourced, mainly subcontracted to private companies. The City has association contracts for waste management, coordinating the implementation of an integrated waste management system for the entire district. There are several projects in place to improve the waste management in the area. The reprocessing stage of the plastic waste management chain is a work in progress, as the City still faces issues with the integrated sorting and the collection of materials. Currently, Alba Iulia transports its waste to another district, where there is an authorised ramp for sorting and collecting waste. For these reasons, Alba Iulia did not implement the four phases of the PA, focusing mainly on collection and transport. The City also planned to use Picvisa’s facilities in a city close to Barcelona to proceed with the sorting process but, as it happened with Utrecht, Alba Iulia could not send the waste to Spain due to regulatory issues in Europe, which proved even more difficult during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • SHOP XXXXXXX The Shop Xxxxxxx shall be a County employee as selected by the Union. A list of shop stewards will be kept current and sent by the Union to each department head and to Human Resources. Duties required by the Union of its stewards, except attendance at meetings with the County, supervisory personnel and aggrieved employees arising out of a grievance already initiated by an employee under Article 14 hereof, shall not interfere with their or other employees, regular work assignments as employees of the County. The shop xxxxxxx, or their designee, involved with a particular grievance must be identified at Step 1 of the grievance procedure and will be designated as the only bargaining unit employee who will be able to gather information pertaining to that particular grievance.
