Analysis Units Sample Clauses

Analysis Units. An analysis unit represents a combination of stands dominated by specific tree species or a particular silvicultural regime with a specific timber growing capability — as indicated by the inventory type group and site index in the forest inventory file. Each analysis unit is assigned timber volume projections (yield tables) for both existing and future stands. Table 8.5 provides a description of analysis units used in the Okanagan TSA timber supply analysis. Existing stands less than 21 years of age are considered managed stands and are excluded from pooling to determine average attributes for the analysis units listed below. Analysis Units. An analysis unit represents stands homogeneous in terms of tree species or silvicultural prescription. Each analysis unit is assigned its own timber volume and height growth projections (yield tables) for existing and future (managed) stands. As part of this project X.X. Xxxxxxx and Associates Ltd. were contracted to redefine the analysis units and associated yield and height growth functions within the Vanderhoof Forest District. These analysis units and yield tables are incorporated into the timber supply model. The methodology, procedure and results associated with this project are documented in an accompanying report, Natural and Managed Stand Yield Tables for the Vanderhoof Innovative Forestry Practices Agreement Second Innovative Analysis. (XX Xxxxxxx and Associates Ltd., 2003).
