Common use of Appeals to Final Ranking Order List Clause in Contracts

Appeals to Final Ranking Order List. An employee who wishes to object to the final ranking order list must file a written appeal with the Human Resources Director. Such appeal will be submitted no later than April 3 and will include a full statement as to the facts on which the employee contends the list should be modified and recommended modification to be made. Disposition of the employee’s appeal for modification will be completed no later than April 8. If the employee remains dissatisfied with the decision of the Human Resources Director, the employee may appeal that decision to the Board no later than April 15. The Board will hear the employee’s appeal on the same evening as their last regularly scheduled board meeting in April. The Board’s written decision will be communicated to the employee no later than May 5. Any changes to the official seniority list will be communicated to all employees. The chart below shows the timelines listed above. An employee must meet the timelines at each level to move to subsequent levels of appeal. If any of the above dates fall on a day not part of the standard employment contract for staff, then the deadline will be moved to the next such workday.
