Appearance and Representation. Hearings held under this procedure shall be conducted at a time and place that will afford a fair and reasonable opportunity for all persons entitled to be present to attend. When such hearings are during school hours, all persons who are required to participate shall be excused with pay for that purpose and that time shall not be deducted from the teacher's personal leave. School hours are defined herein as the hours during which the teacher is assigned direct control of the students.

2. The Board and the grievant are separately responsible for the payment of their own costs involved in any grievance meeting or hearing.

Appearance and Representation. 1. A member of the unit may be represented at all stages of the grievance procedure prior to Level Three by himself/herself, or, at his/her option, by a representative selected by himself/herself. If the unit member plans on bringing a representative to a meeting covered by this procedure, he/she shall notify the supervisor/administrator with whom he/she plans to meet of such representative as far in advance of the meeting as reasonably possible. If a member of the unit is not represented by the Association, the Association shall be informed of all hearings and shall have the right to be present and to state its views at all stages of the grievance procedure.
2. The Association shall designate one (1) representative for the processing of grievances pursuant to Government Code 3543.
1. This representative will be in addition to the grievant, who shall also receive such release time.
3. The parties agree that no reprisals of any kind for such involvement will be taken by either party or by any member, employee, agent, or affiliate of either party against any person involved in a grievance.
4. Hearings under this procedure shall be conducted at a time and place which shall afford a fair and reasonable opportunity for all persons, including witnesses, to be present. Such hearings shall be conducted, if at all possible, when they will not interfere with the regular instruction of students, unless there is mutual agreement for other arrangements.
5. Pursuant to these procedures, any member of the unit required under such mutual agreement to be absent from his/her duties shall not suffer any loss of pay.

c. Union representatives shall have the right to inspect specific portions of a grievant's personnel file at reasonable times upon written permission of the grievant.
Appearance and Representation. A. The District and the Association will cooperate in the investigation of any grievance. See Appendix A.
B. The Association shall be notified of, and may be represented at, any scheduled meetings, hearings, appeal, or other proceedings relating to a grievance which has been presented.
C. If in the judgment of the Association a grievance affects a group of teachers or the Association, the Association may initiate and submit such grievance to the Superintendent. The grievance shall be filed at Step 2 within ten (10) days of the time the grievance arises. The grievance may be processed through all levels of the procedure even though there is no individual aggrieved person who wishes to do so.

Meetings or hearings held under this Article shall be conducted at a time and place that is mutually acceptable to the parties, including the individual grievant, and which will afford a reasonable opportunity for all persons entitled to be present, to attend. In the event such a meeting or hearing is held during school hours, any bargaining unit member who is required to attend such meeting because he or she is a grievant, Congress representative designated under paragraph 1, Section (c) of this Article, or a witness whose presence is required by the Authority conducting the meeting or hearing, shall be excused with pay, for such purpose.

Unit Members shall not suffer loss of compensation for time spent as a grievant or witness at a hearing held pursuant to this procedure.
Appearance and Representation. No formal meetings or hearings of any grievance may be conducted by the College without notification to the Association. Hearings and/or meetings under this procedure will be conducted at a time and place that will afford a fair and reasonable opportunity for all persons, including witnesses, to be present.
