The parties agree that it has been and shall continue to be in their mutual interest and purpose to promote systematic and effective employee-management cooperation; to execute a written agreement; to confer and negotiate in good faith at reasonable times with respect to grievance procedures and collective negotiations on personnel matters, including wages, hours and working conditions; to promote effective methods for prompt adjustment of differences; and to promote full and reasonable employee participation in such personnel areas as are within the jurisdiction of the Employer. NONDISCRIMINATION Neither the District nor the Union shall discriminate against any employee subject to this Agreement on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, gender, marital status, creed, religion, honorably discharged veteran or military status, sexual orientation including gender expression or identity, the presence of any sensory, mental or physical disability, or the use of a trained guide dog or service animal by a person with a disability. Wherever words denoting a specific gender are used in this Agreement, they are intended and shall be construed so as to apply equally to either gender.
