Application to Part-Time Teachers. In the selection of teachers for layoff, a part-time teacher who is senior to another teacher shall be entitled to be retained provided the part-time teacher has the necessary qualifications: i. if the junior teacher's assignment is of the same percentage of time; or ii. if the junior teacher's position is of a lesser percentage of time and the senior teacher elects to claim it; or iii. if the junior teacher's position is of a greater percentage of time, if the senior teacher elects to claim it.
