APPOINTMENT AND TIME-OFF FOR STEWARDS. The Council acknowledges the right of the Association to appoint employees as stewards subject to the agreement of both parties under clause below. The Council and the Association shall determine the number of stewards having regard to the organization of the Council, the distribution of employees at the work place and the administrative structure implied by the grievance procedure. The Association shall notify the Council’s Manager, Employee Relations, in writing of the appointment of each xxxxxxx, but any employee so appointed by the Association shall not be recognized nor serve as a xxxxxxx until such notification has been received in writing by the Council’s Manager, Employee Relations.
