Appointment at Advanced Salary. When it appears to be in the public interest, and that an unusual condition exists or that the maintenance of continuity of skilled or experienced personnel so requires, and that the qualifications, education, previous training and/or experience of a proposed employee justify a beginning salary in excess of such minimum compensation, upon approval of the County Administrative Officer prior to the date of hire, an appointment may be authorized at some higher step than such minimum compensation in the appropriate range. After an employee’s date of hire, salary advancements requested, other than those described in Article 39. B., must be approved by the Board of Supervisors per Section 7 of the Humboldt County Salary Resolution.
