Salary Advancements. Teachers who are retiring or leaving the School District may be paid the remainder of their salary in June. Any other employee wishing the advancement of salary in June shall submit the request in writing to the Board no later than the May Board meeting.

Salary Advancements. Salary advancements for personnel who are on a range and step basis are predicated on length of service as follows: All such employees shall receive an automatic increase of one (1) step on the first day of the pay period following the date that the employee’s total actual hours in paid status equals thirteen (13) pay periods of full-time service rendered to the County in the same class. Thereafter, each such employee shall receive an automatic one-step increase up to and including Step “E” when their total hours in a paid status at each step equals twenty-six (26) pay periods of full-time service rendered to the County in the same class. The effective dates of each step increase will be the anniversary date of such employee. Employees who are paid on an hourly basis shall receive an automatic increase in the same manner as described above, with the first increase on the first day of the pay period following the date that the employee’s total actual hours in a continuous paid status equals thirteen (13) pay periods of full-time service rendered to the County in the same class. Other than for the purpose of computing salary, the starting date of an employee’s service shall be the first day of the pay period if the initial employment, promotion, reclassification or demotion occurs during the first half of said pay period, or the first day of the next succeeding pay period if the initial employment, promotion, reclassification or demotion occurs during the last half of said pay period.

Employees may request salary advancement for an extreme emergency, which the employee shall identify in writing to Human Resources, with a copy to the employee’s supervisor or Director. The amount of the requested advance shall not exceed the salary or wages earned as of that time, less taxes and benefit withholding. Requests for salary advancements require written approval of the Director of Human Resources and the Chief Operating Officer.

Salary Advancements. Full time regular employees serving in a regularly established position and part-time regular employees serving in classifications represented by the Union shall be advanced from the "A" step to the "B" step in their respective classifications after completion of twelve (12) months' full time satisfactory service, in each of the salary steps for the classification until the top of the range is reached. No salary advance shall be made so as to exceed any maximum rate established in the pay plan for the class to which the advanced employee's position is allocated. Advancements shall not be automatic but shall depend upon increased service value of an employee to the City as determined by his/her Department Head. These include length of service, performance record, special training undertaken, or other pertinent evidence. Upon the approval of the City Manager, an employee who demonstrates exceptional performance based upon the criteria in the preceding sentence may be advanced two salary steps. An employee shall not normally be eligible for advancement in pay until they have successfully completed their probationary period or any extension thereof, as provided in Section 21. A change in an employee's salary because of promotion or demotion establishes a new salary anniversary date for that employee. Salary range adjustments for a classification will not establish a new salary anniversary date for employees serving in that classification.

The principal’s decision is subject to review and approval by the superintendent.

A classified hourly employee will advance to the second step of the salary schedule on the first of the calendar month following the completion of one year of service provided that he/she has received from the supervising manager a “good solid performance” rating. If the employee’s supervising manager has not completed the evaluation and given a copy to the employee by the date when the employee is scheduled to receive the step increase, the increase shall be granted automatically. A worker's first month of service will be the month during which he/she begins work providing he/she renders service before the 11th of the month. In all other cases, the worker's first month of service will be the calendar month following the date on which he/she begins work. A worker will advance to subsequent steps as he/she completes an additional year of service with a satisfactory rating on the annual evaluation. A classified hourly employee will advance to subsequent steps as he/she completes an additional two years of service with a satisfactory rating on the bi-annual evaluation. A year for 12-month workers is 12 months; for 11-month workers, 11 months; for 10-month workers, 10 months; for academic- day workers, the academic year. However, if the worker's supervising manager does not complete the annual evaluation and give a copy to the worker by the date the worker is scheduled to receive the step increase, the increase shall be granted automatically. A worker's anniversary date for salary increments shall be the anniversary of his/her first month of service after completing six months in a class. The anniversary date for a classified hourly employee shall be the date of hire in the classified hourly position. Any month during the worker's work year during which he/she is not in paid status will not count toward the anniversary date and will advance it by one month. A worker who demonstrates exceptional ability and diligence as a worker of the District may be given double advancement on recommendation of the supervising manager and with approval of the Director of Human Resources, the President, or the Chancellor.

  • Salary and Fringe Benefits The employee shall be paid a salary which is the pro- rata share of the salary which the employee would have earned had he or she not elected to exercise the option of reduced workload. The employee shall retain all other rights and benefits enjoyed by full-time members of the unit.
