Common use of Approval of PTO Clause in Contracts

Approval of PTO. PTO requests shall be granted on a first come, first served basis. Requests will be granted, denied or pended in accordance within this section. If a denial is given, it is the employee's responsibility to inform management of their continued interest to have the day off. If requests for the same time off are submitted on the same date by persons in the same department, classification, and shift, and the employees involved are unable to affect a suitable compromise, preference will be based on seniority. Seniority for this purpose is defined as the length of continuous service with the Hospital. Exceptions to this seniority preference are as specified in subsection F below.
