Scheduling PTO. On or before January 1st of each year, employees are invited to express their preference as to PTO time by seniority in full weeks. After full weeks are selected, employees may select single or partial days by seniority. In assigning PTO, the Company, insofar as feasible, will comply with the request, giving preference to requests of senior employees. PTO selections must be given to the immediate supervisor on or before January 31st. PTO will be approved by February 15th. PTO not scheduled during the initial selection process will be available on a first come first serve basis. Employees may carry over up to 120 hours of PTO from year to year.
Scheduling PTO. To the extent business requirements permit, employee requests for a specific period in which to take PTO will be honored. Furthermore, the most senior employees shall have preference as to the time they take PTO so far as the efficient operation of the business will permit. Where more than one (1) employee in a job classification desire PTO at the same time, PTO will be assigned according to seniority. Employer and employee may mutually agree upon the PTO time.

If a denial is given, it is the employee’s responsibility to inform management of their continued interest to have the day off. If requests for the same time off are submitted on the same date by persons in the same department, classification and shift, and the employees involved are unable to affect a suitable compromise, preference will be based on seniority. C. For periods of time off of more than one (1) day but less than five (5) days, the request must be submitted to the employee's manager or scheduling supervisor at least two (2) weeks, but not more than six months, prior to requested time off. If requests for the same time off are submitted on the same date by persons in the same department, classification and shift, and the employees involved are unable to affect a suitable compromise, preference will be based on seniority. D. For periods of time off of five (5) days or more, the request must be submitted to the employee's manager or scheduling supervisor at least six (6) weeks, but not more than six (6) months, prior to requested time off. If requests are submitted for the same time off by persons in the same department, shift, and classification, and the employees involved are unable to affect a suitable compromise, preference will be given to the most senior employee. Seniority for this purpose is defined as the length of continuous service with the Hospital. Exceptions to this seniority preference are as specified in subsections E and F below. All time off requests will be responded to within ten (10) calendar days of receipt not including the automated response. Initial response to include one of the following: 1. Approval of PTO 2. Scheduling PTO. Eligible employees may be granted scheduled PTO accruals to begin at any time during the year, with specific considerations being given to: (a) Minimum interference with the Company's business; and (b) Bargaining Unit seniority.
Scheduling PTO. Employees must request PTO in writing at least 3 days in advance. Approval of PTO will be based on the business and staffing needs of the Employer. In cases where more employees request PTO than can be allowed, priority consideration will be given to the employees with the greater length of service with the company. In the case of unexpected illness, the employee must submit a written request for PTO immediately upon the employee's return to work. Repeated claims of illness may result in a requirement for a doctor's certificate regarding the employee's health condition.

Scheduling PTO. PTO shall be scheduled from January 1 to December 31 on a seniority basis in each job classification. PTO requests for one (1) week or greater will be submitted on a quarterly basis according to the schedule below. The team member responsible for scheduling will respond in writing with approval/denial within 30 calendar days from the request date deadline for the following quarter. If the Employer denies or fails to respond to the request within the allotted time frame, the team member may file a grievance pursuant to Article 10 of this Agreement, with the remedy being approval of the PTO request. Bargaining Unit seniority rights in the preferential scheduling of personal time off must be exercised prior to December 31st of each year. Personal Time Off schedules shall be posted by each supervisor. Personal Time Off shall be taken on a work week basis, except for employees who have accrued less than one (1) week/forty (40) hours of PTO credit, or when the operating requirements of the Company necessitate shorter absence periods and such scheduling is mutually agreeable to the employee and the employee's supervisor. 5.5.2 Employees with more than one (1) week of Personal Time Off or odd days or hours of PTO may schedule not more than five (5) days of such vacation in increments of one (1) or more days as the Company's operation permits. Such scheduling shall be agreed to between the employee and the supervisor at least ten (10) days prior to the beginning of the Personal Time Off. 5.5.3 An employee shall have the right to take previously scheduled PTO only if PTO is then-available to cover the scheduled time. However, an employee who does not have sufficient PTO available may apply for personal leave and the granting or denial of such leave shall be as provided in Section 6.5. 5.5.4 For bona fide reasons, the Company shall have the right to postpone previously-approved scheduled PTO time.
