Common use of Arbitrator's Authority Clause in Contracts

Arbitrator's Authority. The arbitrator shall have no right to amend, modify, nullify, ignore, add to, or subtract from the provisions of this Agreement. He/she shall consider and decide only the specific issue or issues submitted to him/her in writing by the parties of this Agreement, and shall have no authority to make a decision on any other matter not so submitted to him/her.
