Common use of Assignable Duty Time Clause in Contracts

Assignable Duty Time. (a) The assigned duty time is made up of instructional assignments and other assigned duties as outlined in Clause 13.1. (1) The maximum instructional hours per week for full-time employees shall not exceed 27.5 hours unless arrangements satisfactory to the instructor, the Department Chair and the designated supervisor are made to exceed the maximum. (2) The instructional hours per week shall be averaged over the annual work assignment exclusive of annual vacation and curriculum development/professional development (CD/PD) days. (3) An instructional hour is defined as one hour of scheduled instruction in a classroom, seminar, laboratory, clinical, tutorial, or shop situation. (4) In addition to the instructional hours in Clause 13.3(b)(3), instructors shall undertake the associated course preparation, student contact, marking and other functions and responsibilities required to deliver the course. (c) Other assignable duty hours as outlined in Clause 13.1 shall be assigned by the Xxxx in consultation with the instructor.

(3iii) An instructional hour is defined as one hour of scheduled instruction in a classroom, seminar, laboratory, clinical, tutorial, or shop situation. (4iv) In addition to the instructional hours in Clause 13.3(b)(313.03 (2) (iii), instructors shall undertake the associated course preparation, student contact, marking and other functions and responsibilities required to deliver the course. (c3) Other assignable duty hours as outlined in Clause 13.1 13.01 shall be assigned by the Xxxx in consultation with the instructor.
