Assigned to Duties of Higher Classification. When an employee is temporarily assigned the duties of a job with a higher rated classification in the bargaining unit for a period longer than one (1) working day, the employee will be paid at the appropriate level of the salary range of the higher classification so that the increase is not less than one full increment in her classification, and such payment will be applicable from the first day of assignment. The maximum rate of the higher rated job increment structure will not be exceeded because of the application of this provision.
