Attrition Arrangements. (a) If by reason of any technological change, (1) the Employer is unable to provide work for any employee and additional knowledge and skill are not appropriate pursuant to Article 23.7, or (2) an employee cannot meet job requirements upon completion of the training period pursuant to Article 23.7, the Employer shall pay lump sum severance pay. (b) In lieu of severance pay an employee who is laid off due to technological change may choose to exercise her rights as outlined in Article 12. (c) Severance pay shall be determined on the basis of one (1) week's pay at the employee's current rate of pay for each complete year of service. (d) Should employees be laid off without notice required by Article 12, they shall receive pay in lieu of notice additional to the severance pay required by this clause.
