Common use of AWP Clause in Contracts

AWP. Pharmacists are expected to work as many hours as necessary to accomplish and fulfill clinical or core responsibilities. Pharmacists assigned to perform work outside of their normal work hours or while in standby status in order to accomplish their assignments and fulfill clinical responsibilities, will receive additional straight time pay at their regular rate of pay for actual work performed. The Employer will grant exchange time in lieu of straight time pay, upon mutual agreement between the Employer and the employee. Pharmacists performing on-call work such as responding to phone calls, monitoring for new orders and awaiting physician responses shall be compensated for the time spent completing these tasks. Time submitted and approved will be paid on a straight time basis at the employee’s regular rate of pay for all AWP pharmacists: every call a pharmacist receives after midnight until 6:00 a.m. the next day, the on-call pharmacist will receive one hour of straight time in compensation for addressing the call, regardless of the length of the call. The Employer will grant exchange time in lieu of straight time, upon mutual agreement between the Employer and employee.
