Beginning in Summer 2004, for a faculty member who receives a summer Continuing Education assignment paid from the School for Continuing Education budget, that assignment shall be compensated as overload in accordance with Article 29.11.
Beginning in Summer 2004, for a faculty member who receives a summer assignment for independent study, thesis, internship, advisement (excluding that covered by coordinator assignments), large class adjustments and other individualized studies, that assignment will be compensated as overload in accordance with Article 29.11, provided the faculty member has at least three credit units of other summer in-load assignments.
Beginning in Summer 2004, for a faculty member who receives a Study Abroad or tuition recovery program assignment in the summer term, that assignment shall be compensated as provided for in Article 29.7.a. and b. However, if the program or course is scheduled to be cancelled because of lack of enrollment, then the University may ask the faculty member if he or she would accept a lower level of compensation to keep the program or course from being cancelled. The faculty member is under no obligation to accept lower compensation, and the University may not offer less than the overload rate specified in Article 29.11.
