Summer Term. Section 1 At the discretion of the employing unit, Graduate Assistants on academic- year appointments may be offered additional appointments covering all or part of the University’s summer term. The number of such appointments and their duration will be determined by the employing unit based on the anticipated workload or enrollment for summer term.
Section 2 The salary for summer term appointments will be determined according to Article 11 (Salary), with summer term treated as another three (3) month (thirteen (13) week) employment period. The salary base for the summer term will be that of the previous academic year. The actual work duration in summer term may differ considerably from the employment period; for example, a Graduate Teaching Assistant may be employed to teach a four (4) week summer term course at thirteen (13) hours per week, corresponding to fifty-two (52) hours total work or 0.10 FTE for the employment period.
Summer Term. Section 1. Graduate students who do not require academic credit to satisfy program or degree requirements, or who find that needed or required courses are not offered in summer term, may be appointed to summer term GE positions. Those who receive such summer GE appointments are exempt from the graduate credit enrollment requirement of ARTICLE 23.
Section 2. The workload or FTE for summer term appointments will be specified in the summer section GDRS (see ARTICLE 9, Section 4). During the summer term, GEs may be appointed on overload at an FTE level that exceeds .49 with the approval of the Xxxx of the Graduate School. The University will endeavor to make equivalent appointments throughout the University for comparable summer assignments. This agreement establishes minimum pay levels, but not the maximum pay levels that Departments or employing units may pay GEs during the summer term.
Section 3. During the summer term GEs shall be compensated in the same manner as they are during the three other terms (see ARTICLE 23, Section 1).
Section 4. Recognizing the variability of summer course registration, employing units may take the following steps to establish summer appointments:
a) Ask GEs to indicate interest in summer work at any time during the academic year.
b) Issue a “tentative summer offer,” if they believe work will be available during the summer, which can be made contingent on sufficient enrollment in a course or sufficient funding for non-instructional work. Tentative summer offers can be rescinded without penalty up to four weeks prior to the start of the summer session in which the work is scheduled to commence. If a tentative offer is rescinded later than four weeks prior to the start of the summer session in which the work is scheduled to commence, the GE will be entitled to a payment of $300.00 in consideration of work performed preparing for the assignment. Except in extraordinary circumstances, offers of summer appointment shall be issued no later than one week prior to the start of the summer session in which the work is scheduled to commence. The rescission of accepted offers of summer appointment is governed by ARTICLE 17.
Summer Term. Gwernyfed High School Progress Leader will meet with Primary Headteachers. All dates for Transition visits and parents’/guardians’ meeting will be agreed between the schools two terms prior to the event. These days will include: • Year 5 Day in the Summer Term • Shadow Day and New Intake evenings • Transition event days and transition parents’ evening The transition coordinator will distribute information regarding these events to parents via the Primary Schools a fortnight prior to the event. Two Transition Days’ for all Year Six pupils
Summer Term. Summer Term appointments shall be compensated at eight hundred and eighty dollars ($880) per instructional workload unit. In exceptional circumstances, the College Xxxx may approve small classes with enrollment under ten (10) students, in which case, appointments will be compensated at seventy dollars ($70) per student credit hour.

Summer Term. For nine (9) month bargaining unit members, Summer Term appointments are for varying lengths of time and are additional appointments when program needs and available resources provide opportunities for summer employment. Summer Term appointments are recommended, and mode of course delivery assigned, and approved by the Xxxx and the Xxxxxxx. Bargaining unit members who indicate a willingness to accept a Summer Term appointment and are qualified to teach the course(s) offered, will be offered the appointment before an individual outside of the bargaining unit.
