Common use of Beginning July Clause in Contracts

Beginning July. 1, 2005, less than full-time bargaining unit members who are at least fifty- five (55) years of age with at least five (5) years of services in the District and who have participated in the District’s health and welfare plan continuously for the immediate 24 months preceding retirement, may purchase a health and welfare package (health, dental and vision) at the retiree rates. Bargaining unit members must elect benefits within the required election period, as defined by the insurance carriers.
