Behaviour and Discipline. 12.1 We attach great importance to courtesy, integrity, manners, discipline and respect for the needs of others. It is the responsibility of the Parents that the Student attends School each day (see Clause 14), is punctual, works hard, is well behaved and complies with the School’s Code of Conduct. 12.2 The Parents accept that the School will be run in accordance with the authorities delegated by the Governing Body to the Head. The Head is entitled to exercise discretion in relation to the School's policies, rules and procedures and will exercise those discretions in a reasonable and lawful manner and with procedural fairness when the status of the Student is at issue. 12.3 The Parents accept the authority of the Head and of other members of staff on the Head's behalf to take all reasonable disciplinary or preventative action necessary to safeguard and promote the welfare of the Student and the School community as a whole. The School Rules and School’s Behaviour and Discipline Policy (published on the School website and available to Parents on request) apply to all Students when they are on School premises or in the care of the School. The Policy and the School Rules set out the disciplinary process and sanctions applied by the School.

Behaviour and Discipline. At Alamiyah a positive approach to discipline is employed. The school understands that behaviour is a form of communication. Pupils are constantly communicating their needs and wants through their behaviour whether it is constructive or disruptive. Disruptive behaviour, whether physical and/or verbal, is displaying the child’s belief system about themselves and how they feel. Discovering the belief behind the behaviour is a crucial starting point in positive discipline. The aim of positive discipline is to help provide children with the tools to effectively manage their own behaviour in order to promote inner self discipline and well being. This is done in an environment of mutual respect and encouragement. With re-occurring, persistent and severe disruptive behaviour, measures are first put in place to understand the root cause of recurring and continual disruptive behaviour. The aim is always to understand the child, remove obstacles that may impede their development (and be the cause of their misbehaviour) and lay out steps/strategies to help the child develop inner discipline. Children often test and push boundaries, it is a normal process of their development as they make sense who they are and in the formation of their personalities. The emphasis is on the process of bringing the child to inner discipline and well being. This is our goal and how we measure our success. All staff will be inducted into the Positive Discipline approach and training provided to ensure they are competent in applying it. Parents are also expected to acquaint themselves with our behaviour policy and our Positive Discipline approach through reading our policy and attending positive discipline training and workshops at the school. Pupils flourish best when they know how they are expected to behave and should be free to play and learn without fear of being hurt or unfairly restricted by anyone else. We aim to provide an environment in which there is acceptable behaviour and where pupils learn to respect themselves, other people and their environment. Acceptable behaviour includes being respectful to all adults and pupils, including visitors to the school as well as members of the general public. Behaviour and Discipline. (a) It is a condition of remaining at the School that your Child complies with the Code of Conduct as amended from time to time. In particular You undertake to ensure that your Child attends School punctually and that your Child conforms to such rules of appearance, dress and behaviour as shall be issued by the School from time to time. (b) The School reserves the right, subject to applicable data protection legislation, to monitor your Child’s email communication and internet and mobile electronic device use for the purpose of ensuring compliance with the Code of Conduct.
Behaviour and Discipline. 2.1 In accordance with Unicorn’s core values, pupils are expected to behave in a manner which is based on self- respect and respect for others. 2.2 No pupil may harm the physical well-being of another pupil and may not bring to school weapons, toys or any other objects which can cause physical injury. 2.3 Behaviour such as bullying, bad language, vulgarity, insolence and theft, or any behaviour which is detrimental to the school and its pupils, is unacceptable. 2.4 Pupils should treat the school buildings, ground and equipment with respect. Any form of vandalism to the school’s, teachers’ or other pupils’ property will be viewed as totally unacceptable. 2.5 Pupils may not discard rubbish or litter on the school premises. 2.6 After school, pupils may only wait in designated areas. Playing around buildings and classrooms is not permitted. 2.7 Pupils may not use the school’s facilities and equipment, including sports equipment, without the supervision or permission of the Director of Sport or relevant sports coach. 2.8 Pupils may not enter the school premises after hours or during school holidays without permission.

The School seeks to xxxxxx good relationships between members of staff, between the pupils themselves and between staff and pupils. Bullying, harassment, victimisation and discrimination will not be tolerated. The School and its staff will act fairly in relation to the Pupil and Parents and will expect the same of the Pupil and Parents in relation to the School. 7.4. The Parents agree to go through the School Rules carefully with the Pupil before the Pupil takes up a place at the School. 7.5. The Parents authorise the School to take all reasonable disciplinary or preventative action necessary to safeguard and promote the welfare of the Pupil, the School’s pupils generally and the School community as a whole. The School Rules apply to the Pupil when the Pupil is in the care of the School or wearing School uniform or otherwise representing or associated with the School whether the Pupil is on the premises of the School or not. 7.6. Any complaint or apparent act of misconduct will be investigated. The Pupil may be questioned and the Pupil’s accommodation and belongings may be searched in appropriate circumstances. All reasonable care will be taken to protect the Pupil’s human rights and freedoms and to ensure that the Parents are informed as soon as reasonably practicable after it becomes clear that the Pupil may face investigation or formal disciplinary action. Investigation of a complaint and any disciplinary action will be handled in a fair and unbiased manner. 7.7. Except as required by law, the School and its staff shall not be required to divulge to Parents or others, any confidential information or the identities of Pupils or others who have given information or evidence in the course of any investigation. 7.8.
