The School's Obligations. (a) The period of your child’s boarding. Subject to these terms and conditions, the School will accept your child as a member of the boarding community from the time of joining the School until the end of his or her secondary schooling. However, the School shall not be obliged to permit your child to enter sixth form boarding unless satisfied that it is appropriate to do so having regard to his or her academic attainments and all other relevant circumstances. The School may make a decision as to whether your child may join sixth form boarding after the results of GCSE or equivalent examinations are known, and may make entry to sixth form boarding conditional upon the results of such examinations. Students in the sixth form must make satisfactory progress in all of their subjects by the end of Year 12 such that they have a viable programme of study for Year 13. The Headmaster will have discretion about what constitutes a viable programme of study. (b) The scope of our duty to exercise reasonable skill and care for your child’s welfare. While your child remains a pupil of the School, we will exercise reasonable skill and care in respect of his or her welfare. This obligation will apply at all times when your child is permitted to be on School premises or is participating in activities organised by the School. We cannot accept any responsibility for your child while off the School premises unless he or she is taking part in a school activity or otherwise under the supervision of a member of School staff. The School shall adhere to and comply with the National Minimum Standards for Boarding Schools (applicable from time to time) published under the Children Act 1989 (as amended or superseded). (c) Consent to participation in contact sports and similar activities. Unless you notify us to the contrary, you consent to your child participating, under supervision, in contact sports and in other normal sports and activities which may entail some risk of physical injury. (d) In order to fulfil our obligations, we, the Head and School staff need your co-operation, including in particular by you fulfilling your own obligations under this contract. (e) In accordance with the law, we will not subject your child to corporal punishment. (e) Where a child requires regular and ongoing predictable physical contact due to a chronic medical condition we will seek your written permission. (f) Our prospectus and website describe the broad principles on which the School is presently run and is believed to be correct at the time of printing. However, from time to time it may be necessary to make changes to any aspects of the School, including the curriculum or the manner of providing education for your child including by providing such education remotely whilst your child remains at home, for example, where the School is required to close the School premises, and we reserve the right to do so. For this reason, please notify the School if there is anything of particular concern to you contained in the prospectus or website, as it may be that recent changes are not reflected in the current version. The School's Obligations. 6.1. While the School will use its reasonable endeavours to educate pupils by means of tuition and extra-curricular activity in accordance with the traditions of the School and good practice in the education of young people, it will not be liable for any failure of the Pupil to attain any academic or other standard. 6.2. The School reserves the right to make alterations at any time to the way in which the School is run, its situation or any part of it and to any other aspect of the School, its management or organisation, without affecting these terms and conditions. 6.3. The School's Obligations a) Subject to the provisions of Clause 7, the School undertakes to accept your Child as a Student from the time of joining the School until the end of his/her secondary schooling. However, the School shall not be obliged to permit your Child to progress into the next Academic Year unless satisfied that it is appropriate to do so having regard to his/her academic attainments. If, in the professional opinion of the School Director and in consultation with the Parents and the Student, it is felt that the School is not adequately meeting your Child’s educational needs beyond a certain stage of his/her education, the School will give at least a term’s notice of such a decision. b) The School undertakes to exercise all reasonable skill and care in the education and welfare of your Child so long as he/she remains a Student of the School. This obligation applies whenever he/she is under the direct care and supervision of the School, whether that be while on the School premises or engaging in School activities offsite. c) In order to fulfil our obligations, we need your co-operation in particular by: fulfilling your own obligations under these terms and conditions; encouraging your Child in his/her studies and giving appropriate support; keeping the School informed of matters which affect your child; maintaining a courteous and constructive relationship with School staff; and otherwise keeping in touch with the School where your Child’s interests so require. d) We undertake not to subject your Child to corporal punishment. However, there may be the rare occasion when physical restraint may be deemed appropriate for the maintenance of good order, your Child’s safety or the safety of others. e) Parents give their consent to physical contact as may accord with good practice and be appropriate and proper for teaching and instruction and for providing comfort to a Student in distress or to maintain safety and good order, or in connection with the Student's health and welfare. The School's Obligations. 2.1. The main contact person will be Xxxx Xxxxxxx, Extension Assistant Professor. 2.2. This grant may be used only for the School's charitable and educational activities. While the County understands that the School may participate in the public policy process, consistent with its tax-exempt status, the School may not use any of these grant funds to lobby or otherwise attempt to influence legislation, to influence the outcome of any public election, or to carry on any voter registration drive.
