Common use of Benefit Waiting Period Leave Clause in Contracts

Benefit Waiting Period Leave. Where an employee is entitled to and takes leave pursuant to Clause 24.1(a) and/or 24.3 and is required by Employment Insurance to serve a two one week waiting period for Employment Insurance Maternity/Parental benefits, the employee will be entitled to a leave of two weeks one week without pay immediately before leaves pursuant to Clause 24.1(a)(2) or 24.3(a)(2) as the case may be. This leave is for the express purpose of covering the Employment Insurance benefit waiting period.
