Working Alone. (a) Where an employee is employed under conditions which present a significant hazard of disabling injury, and when the employee might not be able to secure assistance in the event of an injury or other misfortunes, the Employer shall provide a means of periodically checking the well being of the employee. Checks shall be made at such intervals and by such means as are appropriate to the nature, hazard and circumstances of the employment.
(b) The frequency of employee checks shall be increased proportionate to the nature of the hazard under which the employee is working. For example, extreme weather conditions; as the temperature decreases, the frequency of checks shall increase.
Working Alone. Agencies will develop practices and procedures to minimize as much as possible any situations where employees work alone in potentially hazardous areas and, in those cases where employees are required to work alone, Agencies will develop practices and procedures to minimize as much as possible any potential risk to the affected employees. A periodic check on the safety of employees who work alone in potentially hazardous areas will be made or a means of communication to the worksite base location will be provided to employees who work alone in potentially hazardous areas.
Working Alone. The Employer shall use, at intervals that are reasonably practicable under the circumstances, a method of checking on the well-being of a worker who is working alone under conditions that may give rise to danger to the worker.
Working Alone. The local Joint Health and Safety Committee shall assess the work activities in the plant to determine those work activities that they consider to be hazardous for working alone, and shall make recommendations to Plant Management. The Company agrees when such work activities are recognized as potentially hazardous for working alone, appropriate precautions will be taken. Such precautions will include, when necessary, providing air sampling, ventilation, appropriate PPE, a reliable communication system, training, and if required adequate support personnel.
Working Alone. An Apprentice Xxxxxxx may be allowed to work on any job alone after the first year of Apprenticeship. The Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee may approve the Apprentice Xxxxxxx working alone on one (1) or more types of work, and not on other types of work, depending upon the skill and ability of the Apprentice. An Apprentice Xxxxxxx shall not be permitted to superintend work or act as Xxxxxxx or Leadman.
Working Alone. In the Institutions of the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction and Department of Youth Services, working alone shall be governed by the Employing Agency policy. A periodic check on the safety of employees who work alone in potentially hazardous areas shall be made.
Working Alone. (a) Where an Employee is assigned to work alone, the Employer shall have in place a policy and procedure to support a Working Alone Plan. Employees shall be provided with and required to use the hazard controls specified within the applicable Working Alone Plan.
Working Alone. The Company and the union shall together develop an action plan, as spelled out in the CCOHS, to address the issues of employees expected to work alone. Depending on the work and equipment they are required to operate determines the risk factor and each case shall be assessed on a case by case individual basis. The preceding shall be done jointly by the Company Health and Safety officer and the Chairperson of the Union Health and Safety Committee
Working Alone. Where a school has two (2) or more employees working at the end of the afternoon or graveyard shift, it will be mandatory that the minimum number of employees required to work overtime after 8:00 pm shall be two (2).
Working Alone. The University agrees to create a policy regarding safety measures to be taken for employees assigned to work alone in remote or isolated areas.
