Common use of Bereavement Leave / Tangihanga Leave Clause in Contracts

Bereavement Leave / Tangihanga Leave. 26.20.1 Leave is also provided to the greatest extent practicable to allow grieving associated with bereavement, Tangihanga or to pay respects on the death of a close relative. If you need to discharge obligations and/or pay respects to a deceased person with whom you have had a close relationship or association, appropriate leave will also be favourably considered. Such obligations may exist because of family or whanaunga connections or cultural requirements such as attending all or part of a Tangihanga or its equivalent. Such leave will normally be on pay but in some cases the leave, or part of it, may be without pay.
