Carer’s LeaveAn employee may use up to 10 days accrued sick days as carers leave to tend to the care for members of the employee’s immediate household. The leave will be subject to the employee providing reasonable proof of the need for the use of xxxxx’s leave. In circumstances where the employee has exhausted all of the paid leave, a further 2 days unpaid leave may be taken.
Carer’s LeaveAn Employee may access accrued personal leave for the purposes of Xxxxx’s Leave if the Employee has members of their immediate family, or members of their household, who require care or support whilst they are ill. Where the Employee has used all available sick leave, the Employee may access an additional 2 days unpaid leave per occasion. The employee shall provide proof to the Company, by way of medical certificate, of the illness or injury.
Carer’s LeaveAn employee with responsibilities in relation to either members of their immediate family, or members of their household, who need their care may use accrued personal leave to provide care or support for them when they are ill. Where the employee has used all available sick leave, the employee may take an additional two (2) days unpaid leave per occasion. The employee shall provide proof to the company, by way of medical certificate, of the illness or injury.
Carer’s LeaveAn employee who requires carer’s leave may utilise the following provisions where applicable for such purpose.
Carer’s Leave i. Use of Sick Leave: An employee, other than a casual employee, with responsibilities in relation to a class of person set out in subclause (iv)(b) below who needs the employee's care and support shall be entitled to use, in accordance with this subclause, any current or accrued sick leave entitlement, provided for at Clause 25 Part A, Sick Leave of this Agreement, for absences to provide care and support for such persons when they are ill. Such leave may be taken for part of a single day. ii. The employee shall, if required, establish either by production of a medical certificate or statutory declaration, the illness of the person concerned and that the illness is such as to require care by another person. In normal circumstances, an employee must not take carer's leave under this subclause where another person has taken leave to care for the same person. iii. Xxxxx’s leave is not intended to be used for long term, ongoing care. In such cases, the employee is obligated to investigate appropriate care arrangements where these are reasonably available. iv. The entitlement to use sick leave in accordance with this subclause is subject to:- a) The employee being responsible for the care of the person concerned; and b) The person concerned being; c) A spouse of the employee; or • A defacto spouse, who, in relation to a person, is a person of the opposite sex to the first mentioned person who lives with the first mentioned person as the husband or wife of that person on a bona fide domestic basis although not legally married to that person, or • A child or an adult child (including an adopted child, a step child, xxxxxx child or an ex nuptial child), parent (including a xxxxxx parent, step parent and legal guardian), parents of spouse, grandparent, grandchild or sibling (including half, xxxxxx and step sibling) of the employee or spouse or de facto spouse of the employee; or • A same sex partner who lives with the employee as the de facto partner of that employee on a bona fide domestic basis; or • A relative of the employee who is a member of the same household, where for the purposes of this paragraph:- a) Relative' means a person related by blood, marriage or affinity; b) Affinity' means a relationship that one spouse because of marriage has to blood relatives of the other; and c) Household' means a family group living in the same domestic dwelling. v. Carer’s Leave a) An employee is entitled to use up to a maximum of ten days per annum (ie in any one year) of their paid personal/xxxxx’s leave accruals as carer’s leave to provide care and support for to a member of their immediate family or household who requires special care and support because of:
Carer’s Leave. (a) Xxxxx's leave is paid or unpaid leave taken by an employee to provide care or support to a member of the employee's immediate family or household because of a personal illness or injury of the member or of an unexpected emergency affecting the member. For the purpose of this Clause, the term immediate family includes: (i) A spouse (including a defacto spouse, a former spouse, a former defacto spouse including a same-sex spouse) of the employee; and (ii) A child or adult child (including an adopted child, a xxxxxx child or an ex-xxxxxx child, a step child or an ex-nuptial child), parent, grandparent, grandchild or sibling of the employee or spouse of the employee. (b) An employee may access up to 10 days per anniversary year of paid personal leave accruals for xxxxx's leave purposes. (c) Where the 10 days of paid accruals have been fully taken up, an employee is entitled to a period of up to 2 days unpaid leave (or part thereof) for each occasion of illness, injury or unexpected emergency in regard to a member of their immediate family or household. Casual employees may access such unpaid leave. (d) For any occasion of xxxxx's leave the employer may require the employee to produce documentary evidence of the necessity for such leave, that is, in the case of illness or injury – a medical certificate – or in the case of an unexpected emergency – a statutory declaration made by the employee. (e) Xxxxx's leave is not cumulative.
Carer’s Leave. Xxxxx’s leave is paid or unpaid leave taken to provide care and support to a member of immediate family or household because of: • personal illness or injury of the member; or • an unexpected emergency affecting the member. Paid carer’s leave is deducted from employees accrued sick leave. However the maximum amount of paid carer’s leave a full time employee is entitled to take in any 12 month period prior to taking the leave is 10 days. Employees (including casual employees) are entitled to a period of up to 2 days unpaid carer’s leave per occasion. The unpaid leave of up to 2 days is to be taken as a single unbroken period, unless otherwise agreed between you and the Company. Weekly employees are not entitled to take unpaid carer’s leave if they are able to take paid xxxxx’s leave. To be entitled to carer’s leave (either paid or unpaid) employees must advise the Company as soon as reasonably practical of their inability to attend work in order to provide care and support. Whenever possible they should advise the Company at least 2 hours prior to the commencement of their shift and indicate the expected duration of their absence.
