BEREAVEMENT PAY AND JURY DUTY. 13.01 In case of a death in the immediate family of an Employee, the Company shall grant a leave of absence with pay not to exceed seven (7) days in the death of an employee's spouse or child, four (4) days for mother, father, three (3) days for mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother, sister, grandparents, and grandchildren. In case of the death of an employee's sister-in-law, brother-in-law, he will be allowed one day's absence at his regular rate, for the day of the funeral. To be eligible for such bereavement pay, the employee must not be off work on account of illness, accident, compensation, or lay-off at the time for which the leave is requested. 13.02 The Company shall pay to any employee who may be required to serve as a juror or who may be subpoenaed by the Crown to appear as a Crown witness, the difference between the amount received for such service and the amount the employee would normally have received for a regular work day, provided that the said employee shall return to work each day immediately upon being discharged from jury duty where practicable. 13.03 The employee may be required to present written proof that he was required to and did serve as a juror during the period for which he requests his pay.
