Common use of Building Closings Clause in Contracts

Building Closings. In any situation (such as severe weather, hazardous road conditions, heating plant failure, etc.) when in the opinion of the Superintendent of Schools it is necessary to discontinue classes for pupils in any one school building or in the entire District, information will be provided through a designated radio station or by telephoning the employee. Employees shall be paid the number of hours they were scheduled to work that day. Employees may be required to work on days when school is canceled for students. Work performed on such days will be reasonably associated with regular job duties. Such determination will be made at the sole discretion of the Superintendent. In the event that all District employees are required to work, there will be no additional compensation provided for employees.
