Calibration of Sounding Equipment. Echo sounding equipment shall be checked and calibrated daily before and after use, by means of a bar or plate suspended at known distances below the water surface. Checking shall be performed at the actual location of the survey and the Engineer's Representative may require additional checks during surveying. Adjustments to the recordings / readings taken shall be made accordingly. Records of bar checks shall be performed at starting and ending of the day’s survey work. The echo sounder should maintain a repeatable accuracy of better than 10 cm.
