CARDIAC ABNORMALITIES. A variety of congenital heart defects has been reported in KS patients such as coarctation of the aorta (Xxxxxx and Xxxxxx 1994), hypoplastic left heart syndrome (Xxxxxxx et al. 2010), double aortic arch (Xxxxx et al. 2009) and a further wider spectrum of cardiac anomalies (Xxxx et al. 1985, Xxxxx et al. 2001, XxXxxxx and Xxxxxxx 2006, Moral et al. 2009) including conduction abnormalities (Xxxx et al. 2005). In an extensive meta-analysis of 74 KS cases associated with cardiac defects, Xxxx et al identified that the most common cardiac pathology is represented by left-sided obstructions/aortic dilatation (46.1%) and atrial/ventricular septal defects (32.9%). Overall 90.6% of the patients were diagnosed prenatally or at an early postnatal stage (Yuan 2013).

  • Industrial Accident and Illness Leave shall be granted for illness or injury incurred within the course and scope of an employee's assigned duties. The employee who has sustained a job-related injury shall report the injury on an Office approved accident form to the immediate supervisor within twenty-four (24) hours. An employee shall report any illness, in writing, to the immediate supervisor within twenty-four (24) hours of knowledge that the illness is an alleged industrial illness. Requirements for such leave shall be:

  • Diagnostic procedures to aid the Provider in determining required dental treatment.

  • Infectious Diseases The Employer and the Union desire to arrest the spread of infectious diseases in the nursing home. To achieve this objective, the Joint Health and Safety Committee may review and offer input into infection control programs and protocols including surveillance, outbreak control, isolation, precautions, worker education and training, and personal protective equipment. The Employer will provide training and ongoing education in communicable disease recognition, use of personal protective equipment, decontamination of equipment, and disposal of hazardous waste.

  • Influenza Vaccination The parties agree that influenza vaccinations may be beneficial for patients and employees. Upon a recommendation pertaining to a facility or a specifically designated area(s) thereof from the Medical Officer of Health or in compliance with applicable provincial legislation, the following rules will apply:
